Programme Outline

Duration: This programme runs for 2 semesters

Entry requirements: The programme is open to candidates with:

(a) Basic degree in Medicine (MBBS) or MB.Ch.b

(b) Pre-registration Internship – 1 year rotation in Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Surgery and Paediatrics.

To be eligible for the University of Lagos Postgraduate Diploma in Anaesthesia (full-time), you must hold a registrable medical degree (MBBS or equivalent), have completed a one-year pre-registration internship, possess a NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate, and be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Eligibility requirements

Academic: A Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent degree that is registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Internship: Completion of a one-year rotational pre-registration internship in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Professional Registration: Registration with the MDCN.
National Service: Possession of a NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
Program Duration: The training is full-time for 12 calendar months, and you must have completed 12 months of uninterrupted training in an accredited institution before sitting for the examination.

Start Application: Click the "APPLY" link on the SPGS website and select "Postgraduate" from the Application Type menu to start a new application.

Make Payment: Complete the pre-application form to get a payment reference number, then pay the non-refundable application fee.

Complete Application: Log back in with your payment reference number and password (your surname in lowercase) to complete the application form.

Upload Documents: Upload a digital passport photograph (JPEG format, max 15KB) and all other required credentials, including your degree and NYSC certificates.

Submit: Submit the completed application form and all documents before the stated deadline
