Unilag Foundation Form

Unilag Foundation Form

Gaining admission into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME can be incredibly competitive. With cut-off marks soaring, thousands of qualified candidates miss out on admission annually. Fortunately, the UNILAG Foundation Programme (popularly known as the UNILAG JUPEB Programme) offers an elite alternative route. This intensive 9-month program allows you to bypass the JAMB UTME entirely and secure direct entry into the 200-level at UNILAG or selected tracking universities abroad.

The University of Lagos has officially released the UNILAG Foundation form for the 2026/2027 academic session. If you are looking to secure your slot, this guide provides a comprehensive breakdown of the requirements, fees, step-by-step registration procedure, and strategies to clear the entrance examination.

What is the UNILAG Foundation Programme?

Managed by the School of Foundation Studies (SFS), the UNILAG Foundation Programme is an advanced-level course run in partnership with the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB).

Instead of preparing for a 100-level admission via JAMB, candidates enroll in this rigorous 9-month curriculum, choosing three subject combinations tailored to their desired field of study. Upon completing the program and passing the final JUPEB examinations in June 2027, successful candidates qualify for Direct Entry (DE) consideration into the 200-level of their chosen undergraduate degrees.

Cracking the Entrance Examination Strategy

The UNILAG Foundation entrance exam is a highly competitive Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled for September 5, 2026.

The Exam Structure:

  • Total Questions: 85 Multiple Choice Questions.

  • Time Allotted: 45 minutes.

  • Subject Breakdown:

    • Mathematics (20 questions)

    • English Language (20 questions)

    • Three chosen specialty subjects (15 questions each)

Important Note on Mathematics: If your chosen JUPEB combination includes Mathematics as a subject, you will be tested on Further Mathematics during the entrance examination. Be sure to pick up advanced preparatory materials.

To pass this test, speed and precision are vital. Given that you have less than 35 seconds per question, practicing with actual UNILAG Foundation past questions and answers under a timed condition is the ultimate shortcut to clearing the cut-off mark.
